The University of Law (ULaw), formerly known as The College of Law, is a for-profit private university in the United Kingdom, it provides law degrees, specialist legal training, and continuing professional development courses for British barristers and solicitors. For over 100 years, The University of Law has been an expert provider of legal education and training ever since the institution of the foremost tutorial firm, Gibson and Weldon in the year 1876. Founded in the year 1962 as The College of Law, it is arguably the UK’s largest law school. The university has nine beautiful campuses in the UK in Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Guildford, Leeds, London (Bloomsbury and Moorgate), Manchester, and Nottingham, and also an international branch in Hong Kong.
The university welcomes students from across the globe to their 12 UK-based campuses and international campuses in Hong Kong. The University of Law presents comprehensive campus-based degrees as well as online degrees which are intended with not only practical but also professional skill development. In 2015, ULaw established a one-year foundation programme for international students who wish to progress to undergraduate legal study in the United Kingdom. In 2019, the university received a Silver rating in the UK government’s Teaching Excellence Framework.
The University of Law has numerous campuses in 12 towns and cities throughout the UK, and students can also opt for online study. The campuses are located in- Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Exeter, Guildford, Leeds, Liverpool, London Bloomsbury and Moorgate, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham and Reading. All of their campuses are in close proximity to flourishing commercial areas and present fully-resourced facilities that include highly equipped IT suites, wide-ranging libraries with the texts, business and legal skills, e-books and e-journals in law, in addition to the most recent legal texts. They also have calm study areas, collaborative workspaces as well as places to unwind when on campus. Additionally, all students can access the online learning resource called ELITE. Wi-Fi is also accessible throughout the campuses. The University of Law has a unique feature called ‘CampuSwitch’. CampuSwitch allows you to start your degree at one campus and then shift to another campus to continue and complete your studies. Additionally, if you are studying an LLB (Hons) Law degree, you can even opt to move from an on campus course to an online course, and vice versa. The University of Law has students from around 120 diverse nationalities who contribute to a flourishing international community all the way through the campuses. The university conducts orientation meetings to ease out the process for international students to blend into the life on campus.
The University assures accommodation to first year LL.B students as well as international full-time LL.M who have made the University their final choice by the right deadline. Additionally, the University of Law has two supplementary accommodation options across London exclusively for international students. The non-international full-time LL.M students can also discover off-campus accommodation. The University can help find privately rented accommodation either in a hall of residence or in University-approved housing.

The Honourable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li, is a Hong Kong judge, he serves as the second Chief Justice of the Hong Kong Court for Final Appeal. In the years 2001 and 2010, he held a number of positions in the High Court of Hong Kong, he was Chief Judge, the Justice of Appeal, as well as Judge of the Court of First Instance. He was awarded the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2012 by Hong Kong Government, he also received the title of Officier de l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur which was conferred on him by French Government in the year 2015.
Cherie Blair is known professionally as Cherie Booth. She is a British barrister and a lecturer. Cherie is married to Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She studied at the College of Law and also passed her Bar Vocational Course here. She topped her year in the bar exams. Blair co-authored a book titled ‘The Goldfish Bowl: Married to the Prime Minister’.
Nick Freeman is a well known English solicitor. He is the owner of legal practice Freeman & Co. based in Manchester. He is known as a celebrity defence lawyer, he specialises in traffic and speeding offences. Freeman has over the years been nicknamed ‘Mr Loophole’ by the British press, he has since trademarked this. Freeman is arguably one of the highest paid lawyers in the United Kingdom. His celebrity clients include Sir Alex Ferguson, Van Morrison, Matthew Vaughn and the Beckhams.
Jacqueline Strimpel Bhabha is a well known British academic and attorney. She is a lecturer in law at Harvard Law School and also teaches public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her research and legal practice has a deep focus on citizenship and rights of the aliens, refugee law, smuggling and trafficking.
John Silvester Varley is an British banker who was also the group chief executive of the Barclays between 2004 to 2011.
Robert Edward Jenrick is a well known British Conservative Party politician, he has served as Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government since the year 2019. He has also served as Member of Parliament for Newark since the year 2014.
